Delusional Hubris 2025: Part 1- When a Nation Believes Its Own Lies
Delusional Hubris: Part 1- When a Nation Believes Its Own Lies
2 Thessalonians 2:10–11
“Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”
🧠 I. Delusion as Divine Judgment
The Apostle Paul warns that when people reject the love of the truth, they don’t merely become ignorant—they become deluded. Not just confused, but divinely permitted to believe a lie that leads them to destruction.
In 2025 America, we are not just misinformed—we are under judgment.
We have worshipped the gods of convenience, dominance, and pleasure for so long, that truth has become unbearable to us. Instead of confessing wrong, we double down on it. Instead of repenting, we spin it. Instead of seeing our sins, we export them.
This isn’t just political failure—it’s spiritual pathology.
🗽 II. American Narcissism on a Global Scale
The American media asks, “Why do they hate us?” The real question is: How can we be so blind that we don’t know?
America suffers from a narcissistic ethnocentrism—a belief that our way is not only right, but the only way. We've been shouting "We're #1" for decades, but number one in what? Prison populations? Prescription drug use? Debt? Bombs dropped on foreign soil?
We've confused military superiority with moral authority, and the world sees through the lie, even if we don’t.
We treat the globe like a video game—every conflict is a Call of Duty mission, every culture that doesn't mirror ours is seen as backward, oppressive, or in need of “freedom”—which somehow always involves missiles, sanctions, and drone strikes.
🧨 III. Bloodlust Without Battle Scars
Americans cheer for war like it's a football game, because most of us never bleed. We haven’t tasted real war on our soil since the Civil War. Even 9/11—while tragic—has been so politicized and propagandized that many now see it as an inside job rather than an external threat.
So, what does that produce? A people high on vengeance, but low on understanding.
We bomb nations of color, destabilize their governments, extract their resources, and install regimes that benefit us—and then blame them for being angry.
The bloodlust is real. But it's easy when someone else pulls the trigger.
🧠 IV. The Narcissistic Avoidance of Self-Reflection
“We hate self-reflection and self-examination more than anything…”
This line from your original article is at the heart of the issue. America is terrified of introspection, because to face ourselves is to admit we've become the very thing we once claimed to oppose imperial, violent, and morally compromised.
To criticize America is now seen as unpatriotic.
To question the military is labeled disrespect.
To expose injustice is called un-American.
And yet, the Bible is clear: “If we judge ourselves, we will not be judged” (1 Corinthians 11:31). But we refuse to judge ourselves. So, what happens next?
We are judged.
📺 V. Media Distraction & Manufactured Outrage
As of 2025, the media cycles are less about truth and more about control. From viral outrage over a 13-minute film about the Prophet Muhammad to clickbait politics, we’re constantly kept in a state of emotional manipulation.
Why?
Because if we ever stopped to think—truly think—we might realize that:
Our wealth is built on exploitation.
Our peace is bought by other people’s suffering.
Our democracy is often a disguise for imperialism.
And to awaken from that would be spiritually shattering.
So we escape into entertainment, cling to nationalism, and mock the prophets who speak the truth.
🎭 VI. Politics as Performance, Not Leadership
In 2025, presidential candidates are still performing the same circus:
“America is the greatest nation on earth.”
“We’re going to win again.”
“We’ll bomb them before they bomb us.”
“And don’t worry—we’ll protect your lifestyle too.”
It’s a spiritual seduction—a false gospel of security, supremacy, and personal comfort. Meanwhile, voices like Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, and other truth-tellers are dismissed as weak, irrelevant, or “too real.”
The people don’t want truth—they want reassurance.
They want to be told:
"You are righteous. You are strong. You are good."
Even if we are none of those things anymore.
🚨 VII. A Nation Under Delusion
The Bible doesn’t say God sent confusion to people who didn’t know better—it says He sent delusion to those who rejected truth.
And in America’s case, we’ve rejected:
The truth about our history.
The truth about our foreign policy.
The truth about race, empire, greed, and morality.
The truth about ourselves.
So now we believe lies:
That we’re always the good guys.
That God blesses us unconditionally.
That we are exceptional because we are American.
And that delusion is now our national identity.
✝️ VIII. The Hope Within the Remnant
But there’s still hope.
“Not all of us, of course, thank God for that…”
There is still a remnant—those who refuse to drink the Kool-Aid.
Those who weep.
Those who pray.
Those who speak truth to empire.
If judgment is coming—and it surely is—then the role of the remnant is not to cheer for its delay, but to prepare the hearts of the people for repentance.
Because without truth, there can be no healing.
Without confession, no revival.
Without humility, no restoration.
🧱 IX. Final Word: The Empire Has No Clothes
America in 2025 is the emperor with no clothes—naked, arrogant, and still strutting before the nations as though clothed in moral superiority. But the world is watching. The heavens are watching.
And God is not mocked.
We can’t bomb our way into righteousness.
We can’t seduce our way into salvation.
We can’t vote our way out of divine judgment.
It’s time to wake up
