Why don't Jews believe in Jesus Christ?

He didn’t fulfill the prophesies of the Moshiac.

It is that simple.

There are four key prophesies that obviously were not fulfilled:

  • Bring World Peace

  • Bring a UNIVERSAL understanding of G-d

  • Rebuild the Temple

  • Gather the exiled

Further, look at what many will claim as prophesy—

One example: born in Bethlehem. How many thousands of people have been born there?

In the Bible, "scoffers" refer to those who mock, ridicule, or dismiss God, His truth, or His people. They are often portrayed as arrogant individuals who reject wisdom, righteousness, and divine authority. Here are some key verses about scoffers:

1. Proverbs 1:22 (ESV)

"How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?"

  • This verse associates scoffing with rejecting wisdom and preferring ignorance.

2. Proverbs 13:1 (ESV)

"A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke."

  • Scoffers refuse correction and discipline.

3. Proverbs 14:6 (ESV)

"A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding."

  • They may claim to seek knowledge but are ultimately unwilling to accept true wisdom.

4. Proverbs 19:29 (ESV)

"Condemnation is ready for scoffers, and beating for the backs of fools."

  • A warning of judgment for those who mock righteousness.

5. Isaiah 28:22 (ESV)

"Now therefore do not scoff, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord God of hosts against the whole land."

  • Scoffing leads to greater judgment.

6. 2 Peter 3:3-4 (ESV)

"Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.’"

  • Scoffers in the last days will mock the promise of Christ’s return.

7. Jude 1:18 (ESV)

"They said to you, ‘In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.’"

  • Scoffing is tied to rebellion against God.

Conclusion

The Bible portrays scoffers as those who reject God’s truth, resist correction, and live according to their own desires. They are warned of judgment, but the wise are encouraged to seek humility and understanding.

In modern times, scoffers can be seen in various ways, reflecting the biblical warnings about those who mock truth, righteousness, and divine authority. Here are some modern portrayals of scoffers:

1. Mockers of Faith and Morality

  • People who ridicule belief in God, the Bible, and moral principles, calling them outdated or irrelevant.

  • Example: Atheists or influencers who openly mock Christianity and religion, portraying faith as superstition.

2. Deniers of Absolute Truth

  • Those who reject the idea of absolute truth and promote moral relativism (i.e., "Live your own truth").

  • Example: Social media personalities who claim that right and wrong are personal and subjective.

3. Critics of Christ’s Return

  • Many people dismiss the idea of Yahusha’ second coming as a myth or fairytale, similar to 2 Peter 3:3-4.

  • Example: Scientists, philosophers, or comedians who joke about the idea of judgment day.

4. Persecutors of Believers

  • Individuals who attack or make fun of Christians for standing firm in their faith.

  • Example: Media, entertainment, or politics mocking biblical values like purity, marriage, and sanctity of life.

5. Arrogant Intellectuals

  • People who trust in human knowledge over divine wisdom, thinking they have all the answers.

  • Example: Professors or authors who ridicule the Bible in academic settings.

6. Social Media Scoffers

  • The internet is filled with people who mock God, biblical teachings, and morality, hiding behind anonymity.

  • Example: Online forums where people intentionally spread skepticism and ridicule Christian beliefs.

7. Leaders Who Twist the Truth

  • Some political or cultural leaders scoff at God's laws and promote sin as virtue.

  • Example: Governments or movements that celebrate what the Bible calls sinful while condemning Christian values.

Conclusion

Modern scoffers mirror those in biblical times, rejecting truth, living for themselves, and mocking God. Their presence today confirms biblical prophecy about the last days. However, the Bible encourages believers to stand firm and not be discouraged by their ridicule (Psalm 1:1, 1 Peter 3:15).

Scoffers in the Last Days: A Biblical Perspective on Modern Mockery

Throughout history, scoffers have ridiculed God, His Word, and those who follow Him. In today’s world, their presence is more visible than ever—on social media, in entertainment, and even in political and academic circles. But what does the Bible say about these individuals, and how should believers respond?

Scoffers in Biblical Times

The Bible repeatedly warns about scoffers—those who mock truth, resist correction, and live for their own desires. Proverbs 1:22 asks, “How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?” This highlights their rejection of wisdom and truth.

In the New Testament, Peter prophesied:
“Scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming?’” (2 Peter 3:3-4).
This directly addresses those who doubt God’s promises and dismiss His authority.

Modern-Day Scoffers

Scoffers today are not much different from those in biblical times. They take various forms:

1. Mockers of Faith and Morality

  • Many celebrities, influencers, and media figures ridicule Christianity, calling it outdated or oppressive.

  • Biblical values like marriage, purity, and sanctity of life are often attacked.

2. Deniers of Absolute Truth

  • Society promotes “your truth” instead of the truth.

  • Moral relativism leads people to reject God’s standards.

3. Critics of Christ’s Return

  • Some dismiss the idea of Yahusha’ return as superstition, just as Peter warned.

  • The world mocks the concept of final judgment.

4. Persecutors of Believers

  • Christians around the world face legal and social persecution for standing by their faith.

  • Many lose jobs, friendships, or even their lives for following Christ.

5. Arrogant Intellectuals

  • Some scholars and scientists reject God, believing human reason is the ultimate authority.

  • They scoff at the Bible, dismissing it as myth.

6. Social Media Scoffers

  • The internet is full of people who attack and ridicule believers.

  • Online platforms amplify hostility toward Christianity.

Blasphemers and Their Fate According to Scripture

Blasphemers go beyond scoffing by openly speaking against God, His truth, and His works. The Bible has strong warnings about blasphemy:

  • Exodus 20:7“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.” This commandment highlights the seriousness of dishonoring God's name.

  • Mark 3:28-29“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.” Yahusha warns that persistent rejection of the Holy Spirit leads to eternal separation from God.

  • 2 Timothy 3:1-5“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.” This passage paints a clear picture of those who blaspheme and reject God’s authority.

  • Jude 1:10“But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.” Jude warns about those who speak against God out of ignorance and rebellion.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit: The Unforgivable Sin

One of the most serious warnings in Scripture is regarding blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Unlike other sins, YahushaHimself states that this sin will never be forgiven.

  • Mark 3:22-30 – The Pharisees accused Yahusha of performing miracles by the power of Satan. Yahusha responded by warning, “Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin” (Mark 3:29).

  • Matthew 12:31-32 – Yahusha clarifies, “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”

This passage indicates that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not a one-time offense but a deliberate, ongoing rejection of the Holy Spirit’s work in bringing conviction and leading people to Christ. Those who continually resist God’s call, attribute His work to evil, and refuse to repent place themselves beyond the reach of forgiveness.

How Should Believers Respond?

Despite the rise of scoffers and blasphemers, the Bible provides clear guidance:

  • Stand firm in faith. “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked” (Psalm 1:1).

  • Be ready to defend your beliefs. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15).

  • Do not fear ridicule. “If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed” (1 Peter 4:14).

  • Continue sharing the Gospel. The mockery of scoffers should not silence us.

Conclusion

Modern scoffers and blasphemers are a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. They reject truth, live for themselves, and mock God. Yet, as believers, we are called to stand firm, defend our faith, and trust in God’s promises. The presence of scoffers only confirms that we are living in the last days—and that Christ’s return is nearer than ever.
