The United States went on high alert on June 22 over concerns of retaliation from Tehran after the bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites a day earlier.

Major U.S. cities from New York to Los Angeles stepped up their security as the weekend came to a close. Government agencies issued warnings to U.S. citizens at home and abroad. And with Mideast tensions heightened, all eyes stayed glued to Iran and its response.

From the Department of Homeland Security came notice in the United States of a "heightened threat environment." Hours later, the State Department blasted out a “worldwide caution security alert” advising U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased vigilance amid the ongoing Israel-Iran war.

This is not merely a moral statement—it is a revelation of God’s justice, authority, and timing.

🔥 VENGEANCE IS MINE: A DIVINE CLAIM TO JUSTICE

I. MEANING OF THE PHRASE

“Vengeance is Mine” is a divine prohibition against personal retaliation, and a reminder of God's sovereign justice. It teaches that:

  • Justice belongs to God, not man.

  • Wrath is holy in His hands, but destructive in ours.

  • Timing and righteousness are necessary components of true vengeance—something only God can fully execute.

II. KEY SCRIPTURES

  1. Deuteronomy 32:35


     “To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time…”


     🔹 Context: God is speaking of the wickedness of Israel’s enemies. He assures His people that He sees all injustice and will act in His perfect time.

     “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the ELOHIM.”

III. WHY GOD CLAIMS VENGEANCE

  1. Because He is Just
     God’s character is holy, perfect, and impartial. He repays without bias or error.

  2. Because Man is Fallen
     Our vengeance is often driven by pride, rage, bitterness, or self-interest—not righteousness.

  3. Because Judgment Requires Omniscience
     Only YAH knows all things—motives, timing, consequences, generations—and can judge accordingly.

IV. IMPLICATIONS FOR BELIEVERS

✅ 1. Release Bitterness

  • Holding onto vengeance keeps us chained to pain.

  • Forgiveness is not weakness; it’s surrendering the right to retaliate so that God can act on our behalf.

  • Just because justice is not immediate doesn’t mean it’s not coming.

  • “Their foot shall slide in due time.” (Deut 32:35)

  • When we choose not to fight back carnally, we open the door for YAHUAH to act supernaturally.

  • David refused to kill Saul, even when he had the chance, because he understood this principle (1 Samuel 24:10-12).

V. WHAT DIVINE VENGEANCE LOOKS LIKE

God’s vengeance can come in many forms:

  1. Sudden Judgment – like fire from heaven on Sodom (Genesis 19)

  2. Long-Term Humbling – like Nebuchadnezzar eating grass (Daniel 4)

  3. National Collapse – like Egypt’s fall after enslaving Israel (Exodus 7–12)

  4. Eternal Judgment – at the White Throne (Revelation 20:11–15)

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” — Hebrews 10:31

VI. PROPHETIC AND ESCHATOLOGICAL DIMENSION

In the last days, the cry for vengeance will increase.

Revelation 6:10
 “How long, O ELOHIM, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”

This is a vision of the martyred saints crying out for God’s justice. Their blood speaks—just as Abel’s did (Genesis 4:10)—and God answers. His vengeance is not only personal, but also cosmic and prophetic. Babylon will fall. The Beast will burn. The wicked will perish.

VII. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: HOW TO WALK THIS OUT

  • 🛑 Stop seeking revenge—pray for those who persecute you (Matt. 5:44)

  • 🙏 Intercede for justice instead of planning retaliation

  • 🕊️ Walk in peace, knowing the Righteous Judge will not forget

  • 💣 Resist the temptation to “expose” or “get even”—He sees all

✝️ FINAL WORD: DON’T STEAL WHAT BELONGS TO GOD

Vengeance is a holy weapon—and it does not belong in carnal hands.
